Relaxing into a moment with glass in hand, one has to sit still as to not spill the contents of the glass. This mediation combined with a view can become an asana that incorporates breath, taste, reflection and pattern. Our minds seek comfort in repetition with a twist. Reflections in a glass of wine are typically unnoticed. The same view is multiplied in the glass reflections, in the stem, in the liquid and even the front & back of the vessel if the light is right. I enjoy how each "lens" distorts the reality.
The color of the wine mixes a new pallet for the landscape. I especially enjoy how the golden chardonnay mixes with a cerulean blue sky to create a turquoise hue. I am no longer able to enjoy drinking a glass of wine but I have found exploring these layers in paint brings abundant opportunity for my own reflection. Cheers!
